Manager, Software Engineering

About the role

Lead a software engineering team building technology that supports care for children with special health care needs, working closely with product and data teams.

What you will do

• Own engineers' career growth through feedback, growth planning and promotion advocacy
• Partner with product and cross-functional teams on data models, system boundaries and integrations
• Drive the technical roadmap with iterative, data-driven product delivery
• Translate business goals into technical architecture and estimate scopes and timelines
• Keep progress moving when requirements or ownership are still being defined

What they look for

• Nine or more years in software development, including three or more managing engineers as a main duty
• Experience guiding teams through change and ambiguous requirements
• Background managing teams working across a cloud-based stack, with AWS preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication and a history of remote, asynchronous work
• Drive to remove obstacles for the team and work across disciplines
• Balance between fast proof-of-concept work and robust systems
