Medical Director, Virtual Urgent Care and On-Demand Telehealth

About the role

Clinical leadership of three connected services: inbound triage and digital immediate care, an enterprise primary care extension, and a virtual observation unit for acute issues. The work is building the care model and the team behind it, with a digital platform and AI tools expanding underneath.

What you will do

• Set the direction for the service line, including growth into more AI-enabled digital channels
• Design the clinical care model and provide direct patient care, handling escalations
• Lead clinical managers directly and the wider clinical staff indirectly
• Manage vendors and technology such as mobile radiology and mobile phlebotomy
• Coordinate with network leaders and community primary care practices for continuity
• Work with marketing and other functions to grow use of the service

What they look for

• Board-certified physician in emergency, internal or family medicine with 5+ years of practice
• Willing to keep practising in a virtual care setting
• Has led and managed clinicians, including advanced practice providers
• Has built or scaled a clinical program or service line, not only worked inside one
• Can work with engineering, product and data teams and reason about how technology shapes care
• Has designed interventions to improve population health and knows how to measure care quality

Nice to have

• Virtual care, Medicare populations or urgent care experience
