A research student placement focused on evaluating digital phenotyping tools used in breeding programmes and analysing their costs, to inform service definition and improvement.
What you will do
- Review phenotyping tools in use across breeding programmes, including drones, satellites, rovers and handheld devices
- Work with breeding teams to assess data and help design indicators of performance, efficiency and impact
- Produce a report on opportunities, challenges and recommendations for scaling these tools
- Examine existing standard operating procedures for consistency and effectiveness, noting gaps
