What you will do

  • Investigate ways to represent and retrieve information so AI systems can reason with the right context
  • Build experimental prototypes using graph-based, semantic or hybrid methods on realistic project data
  • Design experiments with clear research questions, baselines and evaluation methods
  • Work with researchers, engineers and domain experts to refine ideas into working systems
  • Present findings internally and contribute to papers, technical reports or demonstrations where suitable

What they look for

  • Enrolled in a PhD in computer science, AI, data science, information science or a similar field, with at least one term left after the inter
  • Research background in knowledge representation, information retrieval, data management or contextual systems for AI
  • Strong programming skills and experience writing experimental research software
  • Understanding of how retrieval and context support reasoning or agentic workflows in modern AI
  • Experience framing research questions and designing empirical evaluations, plus good written and spoken communication

Nice to have

  • Work on knowledge graphs, hybrid retrieval, retrieval-augmented generation, context engineering or memory architectures
  • A strong publication record in a relevant area
