Senior Accountant

About the role

Deliver full-cycle accounting support to several nonprofit clients in a fully remote setting. Handle close, reconciliations, reporting, audits and grant work under a client services manager.

What you will do

• Run full-cycle accounting for several nonprofit clients, covering payables, receivables, payroll and the general ledger
• Prepare month-end close workbooks, reconcile statement of financial position accounts and issue monthly statements
• Meet client deadlines and route work through compliance and quality control promptly
• Apply nonprofit revenue recognition rules to contributions, exchange transactions and donor restrictions
• Support grant management and reporting, and coordinate audit preparation and deliverables
• Assist with Form 990 and other filings, plus analysis, cash flow forecasts and budgets

What they look for

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles
• Comfort following established procedures, compliance rules and quality standards
• Skill at juggling multiple client deadlines while working remotely

Nice to have

• Public or outsourced accounting background
• Nonprofit accounting experience
• Willingness to learn Sage Intacct and other third-party tools
