Senior Cargo Claims Specialist

About the role

A senior claims role handling complex freight damage and rejection cases, mentoring colleagues and acting as the go-to expert on negotiations and insurance matters.

What you will do

• Guide and coach claims staff on cargo claim handling, good practice and sector standards
• Carry a caseload of more than ninety active claims while keeping records accurate and organised
• Handle intricate, high value claims for damaged or refused freight, both full and partial truckload
• Lead difficult negotiations with shippers, consignees, carriers and customers as the recognised expert
• Coordinate paperwork requests from agents, clients and carriers while keeping everything compliant
• Arrange salvage and recovery after refused loads and decide the best course of action

What they look for

• Holds a Certified Claims Professional credential from the recognised accreditation body
• At least seven years adjusting cargo claims or managing related claims work
• Proven record of juggling ninety or more claims at once
• Comfortable absorbing several processes in a changing, fast moving setting
• Shows initiative, foresees business needs and works without close supervision
• Strong negotiation, conflict resolution and customer service abilities
