What you will do
- Administer and optimize MySQL and InnoDB databases on AWS RDS and Aurora MySQL through provisioning, scaling, patching and upgrades
- Improve performance through execution plan analysis, query and index tuning and InnoDB configuration
- Build and maintain backup, restore, point in time recovery and disaster recovery procedures meeting defined targets
- Support high availability with Aurora clusters, Multi AZ setups, read replicas and automated failover
- Automate database operations and self service capabilities using scripting and infrastructure as code
What they look for
- Ten or more years in database administration, engineering or reliability engineering
- Extensive hands on MySQL experience with deep InnoDB internals knowledge
- Strong hands on administration of MySQL on AWS RDS or Aurora MySQL
- Proven performance tuning, query optimization and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with backups, restores, point in time recovery, disaster recovery and high availability
- Scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, SQL or AWS CLI, plus solid AWS security understanding

- Terraform or CloudFormation
- AWS Lambda, Systems Manager or EventBridge
- Kubernetes or EKS, CI/CD, regulated environments and AWS cost optimization
