Senior Data Engineer

About the role

A freelance full time contract building data pipelines for digital commerce and retail projects. The engagement runs three to six months with possible extension and is fully remote within the European Union.

What you will do

• Build and maintain data pipelines using Python, Databricks and dbt
• Write SQL queries and handle data mapping tasks
• Integrate with REST APIs and work with JSON data
• Set up event streaming with Kafka or Debezium
• Validate data and write unit and integration tests
• Work with Microsoft Azure cloud services

What they look for

• At least four years in software or data engineering
• Experience on projects within a development team
• Strong Python skills for pipelines plus hands on Databricks and dbt
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with data mapping
• Familiarity with JSON and REST API integration
• Knowledge of Data Vault modeling and English good enough for technical and business communication

Nice to have

• Experience with applications in distributed environments
• Experience using AI tools in automated workflows

Pay
