Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Build and maintain the pipelines and datasets behind reporting, analytics and machine learning for several business functions, working in a cloud lakehouse environment.

What you will do

• Create and support scalable pipelines and reusable datasets in a Databricks lakehouse
• Ingest, clean, validate and transform structured and unstructured data with Python, PySpark and SQL
• Design data models and reporting datasets for Tableau and similar analytics tools
• Connect existing warehouse and reporting systems to modern cloud analytics platforms
• Raise pipeline reliability, data quality and processing speed
• Set up automated tests, monitoring, documentation and CI/CD, and mentor other engineers

What they look for

• Seven or more years in data engineering, with production pipeline work
• Solid SQL and a good grasp of data modelling, database design and warehousing
• Strong Python and PySpark skills
• Background in ETL or ELT pipelines and multi-source integration
• Familiarity with version control, automated testing and CI/CD, plus strong communication

Nice to have

• Exposure to Spotfire, Oracle, Informatica, R or data virtualisation
• Databricks certification
