About the role

• Run client sessions to pin down needs and turn vague problems into clear technical plans
• Design data architectures covering ingestion, transformation, compute, storage, analytics and BI
• Build and maintain production pipelines, transformations, models and platform components
• Handle several client projects at once with clear priorities, timelines and documentation
• Write client-facing documents, presentations and updates, and work with software and AI engineers

What they look for

• At least five years of hands-on professional data engineering, ideally with senior ownership
• Advanced SQL ability
• Strong practical use of one or more of Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery or Redshift
• Solid grasp of data architecture and modeling, including patterns, anti-patterns and trade-offs
• Experience designing environments across ingestion, compute, storage, transformation and analytics
• Hands-on cloud work in AWS, GCP or Azure beyond just using hosted services
