Senior Medical Science Liaison, Rheumatology

About the role

Most of the work happens outside the office, with at least four fifths of the time spent with external experts. The person reports to a medical director and works inside the US medical unit.

What you will do

• Spend at least 80% of time on external expert and clinician activities
• Gather medical insights from specialists and pass them back to internal teams
• Help set up company-sponsored studies and investigator-initiated research
• Staff medical booths at conferences and report what was learned

What they look for

• A doctorate in life or health sciences is preferred; a master's in health sciences such as MSN, NP or PA is the minimum
• At least two years as a field-based medical science liaison in pharma
• Strong written and spoken communication, organisation and teamwork
• A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel up to 70% of the time, some overnight and weekends

Nice to have

• Experience explaining complex scientific data to clinical audiences
• Knowledge of rheumatology and related therapeutic areas
• Clinical, research or teaching background
• Comfort working in virtual and cross-functional teams

A typical week

• Meet rheumatology specialists across the territory and answer their scientific questions
• Document visits and insights in the CRM and file expense reports on time
• Join internal calls to share what was heard in the field
• Travel to conferences or meetings, sometimes overnight or at weekends
