Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Build and support full stack applications used across a virtual care organisation, with most work centred on Ruby on Rails and React, and take part in design, testing and production support.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs in Ruby on Rails
• Build frontend applications with React, JavaScript or TypeScript
• Design REST APIs and integrations with other systems and services
• Write SQL queries and work with relational databases day to day
• Use messaging or event driven systems such as Kafka where suitable
• Write automated tests, review code and troubleshoot production issues

What they look for

• At least five years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong hands-on Ruby on Rails work
• Experience shipping production applications with React
• Solid grasp of Ruby, JavaScript or TypeScript
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs
• SQL and relational database skills

Nice to have

• Healthcare or health technology background
• Familiarity with FHIR, HL7v2 or CCDA
• Experience with Mirth Connect or another integration engine
• Work with EHR or EMR systems such as Athena, Cerner or Epic
