Senior Software Safety Engineer, Autonomous Vehicles

About the role

A safety engineering role focused on making AI-driven autonomous vehicle and robotics software safe. The engineer guides teams in defining and verifying safety requirements across the software stack and supports certification work.

What you will do

• Guide engineering teams to specify, build and verify safety requirements across the software stack, including AI models
• Support system safety work such as requirement decomposition, fault and architecture analysis across hardware and software
• Help integrate AI safety principles into the product lifecycle process
• Present and defend safety arguments to certification bodies, assessors and regulators
• Take part in customer discussions and international standardization work on AI safety

What they look for

• Degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or a similar technical field, or equivalent experience
• At least twelve years of experience with AI and software safety processes, methods and tools
• Knowledge of AI safety techniques such as adaptability testing, uncertainty evaluation and out of distribution detection
• Familiarity with system software development and embedded platforms
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience reviewing processes, spotting gaps and proposing improvements

Nice to have

• Background in system safety methods such as HARA, FMEA, FTA and STPA
