Senior Substation Engineer

About the role

Provide project support in a substation engineering team, working on utility substation projects from 4kV to 345kV. The role is client facing and coordinates with other disciplines from scoping to closeout.

What you will do

• Prepare substation general arrangement, control house layouts, plans and sections.
• Design grounding, lightning protection and conduit or trench layouts and material lists.
• Run studies and reports such as grounding, voltage drop and AC/DC load calculations.
• Coordinate engineering and design work with civil, structural and protection teams.
• Perform quality control reviews and support projects from scoping to closeout.
• Provide construction support and maintain strong client relationships.

What they look for

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• At least five years of experience in the electric utility industry.
• Utility substation engineering experience focused on electrical or physical design.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A client focused, outgoing team player.

Nice to have

• Fundamentals of Engineering certification with ambition toward PE licensure.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation.

Pay

USD 95,000 to 145,000 per year
