Staff Engineer, Data and Intelligence

About the role

A senior technical role owning data architecture and pipelines for a data and intelligence group, turning complex analysis into recommendations and building forecasting and pricing models.

What you will do

• Own the data architecture and build batch and streaming pipelines for charging, location, traffic and market data
• Carry out complex analysis and translate findings into clear advice for stakeholders and customers
• Research and assess forecasting models for site and charge point usage, including backtesting and drift checks
• Design smart pricing based on forecasts, market data and events, and simulate it before launch
• Document architecture and modelling choices and explain trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences

What they look for

• Already operating at staff engineer level with technical leadership across multiple teams
• Strong production experience with Python and Spark, plus relational and NoSQL databases and table formats like Delta Lake, Iceberg or Parque
• Rigorous approach to analysing data and evaluating forecasting models rather than trusting results blindly
• Solid AWS experience and understanding of how cloud infrastructure shapes data delivery
• Fluent English and proactive, clear communication that helps teams align

Nice to have

• Kubernetes and Dagster experience
• Active use of AI tools and techniques in daily work
• Background with e-mobility, energy or mobility data
• German language skills
