About the role

A staff engineering role setting the technical direction of the data integration and ingestion platform that the whole company builds on. The work decides how new data sources are onboarded and what reliability means in practice.

What you will do

Own the architecture of the ingestion and integration platform and the patterns for onboarding new sources
Set technical direction for event-driven and batch processing, including build versus buy and migration calls
Define standards for observability, data freshness and failure handling, and hold the team to them
Lead design across team boundaries with data engineering, infrastructure and product
Mentor engineers through design review and code, raising the technical ceiling of the team

What they look for

Eight or more years in software or data engineering, with significant ownership of large-scale ingestion, ETL or integration platform archit
Deep Python proficiency plus strong SQL and cloud data warehouse experience such as BigQuery
