Subrogation Professional

About the role

Remote, Monday to Friday, in your home time zone, with occasional trips to an office for training or meetings. Reports to a supervisor and works a high-volume caseload against monthly targets.

At a glance

What you will do

• Review new accident, injury and claim events to see if another party may be liable
• Call or email members, providers, adjusters and attorneys to collect claim details
• Check police reports, state websites and claim systems to establish fault and coverage
• Set up and update liens on paid claims, then negotiate repayment with attorneys

What they look for

• At least 2 years handling subrogation claims in health, property and casualty, or workers comp
• 2+ years of phone customer service with escalated calls from attorneys, providers or members
• Comfortable using Word and Excel to build forms, reports and documents
• Able to juggle several computer systems and keep notes accurate

Nice to have

• An undergraduate degree

A typical week

• Work through a queue of new claim events and decide which need investigation
• Track down missing details from members, providers and adjusters by phone and email
• Document conversations and decisions in the claims systems as you go
• Follow up on open liens and settlements, and balance competing priorities
