Associate Counsel, Product and Marketing

About the role

You will act as a legal partner to product, engineering, marketing, compliance and sales colleagues, helping them spot and reduce legal risk while the business grows.

What you will do

• Advise stakeholders from early product development through launch, including review of marketing plans and materials
• Carry out first-pass checks of advertising content, covering claim support, disclosures, promotions, sweepstakes, endorsements and testimoni
• Review hardware development for legal exposure such as product labelling and regulatory certifications
• Help grow and enforce the trademark portfolio, investigating possible infringement and drafting cease-and-desist letters and takedown reques
• Research and summarise US and international rules affecting the platform, products, services and marketing
• Build and refine scalable processes such as checklists, templates, FAQs and intake workflows

What they look for

• A J.D. from an ABA-accredited US law school and active membership in at least one state bar
• Three to four or more years of legal experience, ideally advising corporate and commercial clients
• Knowledge of marketing and product law and regulation, plus core privacy concepts
• Experience reviewing advertising and marketing materials, or a strong wish to build that skill
• A learning mindset, close attention to detail and a practical, service-oriented approach

Nice to have

• Exposure to trademark clearance, enforcement or prosecution support
• Familiarity with hardware or consumer product compliance
• Experience at a fast-moving technology, software or fintech company
