Bilingual Claims Service Representative

About the role

Someone who stays calm and helpful on the phone fits well here. You are often the first person a policyholder speaks to after a loss, so clear notes and quick decisions matter.

At a glance

What you will do

• Take calls from policyholders reporting claims and record the first details of each loss.
• Decide from set rules whether an adjuster needs to step in right away and coordinate with vendors.
• Send complete and accurate call reports to the right place after each call.
• Arrange for adjusters or partner vendors to be dispatched when needed.
• Handle branch questions and pass them to the correct area.

What they look for

• Post-secondary education and at least one year in customer service or admin work.
• Fully bilingual in French and English, spoken and written.
• Comfortable with computers and phones, and able to pick up new systems.
• Careful with details and good at managing your time.

Nice to have

• Background in insurance or a service industry.

Benefits

• Pay between $35,200 and $48,900 a year, plus an RRSP with a 2% match.

A typical week

• Work 37.5 hours across an eight-hour shift that starts between 7am and midnight.
• Cover a seven-day rotating schedule, with weekend shifts required.
• Spend most of the day on the phone with policyholders and following up on reports.
