Buyer Analyst

About the role

This role involves securing competitive pricing for new and repeat items under assigned government contracts, reviewing technical parts data, and keeping a reliable supplier base.

What you will do

• Build and maintain supplier relationships for assigned contracts, keeping backup sources to balance cost and quality
• Drive cost reductions and shorter lead times, setting tiered supplier pricing for individual items
• Gather current pricing and lead times, enter data, and manage workload for assigned commodities or contract items
• Monitor stock levels, forecast inventory from sales history and demand, and replenish items as needed
• Issue purchase orders, follow up on backorders, and expedite or reschedule deliveries
• Ensure quality assurance and contract compliance, including first article testing and technical data management

What they look for

• An associate degree or at least three years of procurement experience
• Strong negotiation skills for working with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• High attention to detail and organization to handle several projects and deadlines at once
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required

Nice to have

• Prior procurement or supply chain experience, including relevant military training
• Familiarity with ERP and inventory management software, especially JDEdwards EnterpriseOne
