Field Service Technician II

About the role

Remote in the sense that you are on the road at customer sites rather than in one building. The work covers trace, X-ray, CT and cargo inspection systems, and customers judge you on response times and follow-up.

At a glance

What you will do

• Troubleshoot, install and repair trace, X-ray, CT and cargo inspection systems at customer sites
• Keep service logs and job files organised until each job is closed out
• Call customers after the work to check they are satisfied
• Handle emergency and unscheduled call-outs inside set response times
• Order, fit and return parts, and keep an accurate count of parts and tools

What they look for

• An associate degree, trade certification or military training in electrical, electronic or mechanical work, or 1 to 3 years of equivalent ex
• At least 3 years troubleshooting and repairing electrical and electronic systems in the field
• Comfort with MS Office and the ability to pick up specialised software
• Clear spoken and written business communication
• A valid approach to US export control and security rules

A typical week

• Drive to hospitals, airports and other sites around the metro area to service equipment
• Log each visit and file the paperwork before the job is closed
• Follow up with customers by phone after repairs
• Fit maintenance visits around unscheduled call-outs
