Finance Analyst

About the role

A freelance, fully remote finance role supporting a UK finance team with day to day operations, month end close and management reporting in a fast moving media business.

What you will do

• Support month end close with journals, accruals and prepayments, and perform balance sheet reconciliations
• Keep records accurate in Xero and maintain a tidy chart of accounts
• Prepare monthly management reports covering profit and loss, variance commentary and KPI tracking
• Process supplier invoices, prepare payment runs and reconcile supplier statements
• Raise sales invoices and help chase overdue payments through credit control
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and expense claims, and answer internal finance queries

What they look for

• Two to four years in a finance role covering management accounts, accounts payable and receivable, and reporting
• Strong spreadsheet skills, confident with formulas, pivot tables and lookups
• Fluent written and spoken English for clear communication with a UK team
• Accurate and organised, able to manage your own workload to deadlines
• Available to work UK hours fully remotely

Nice to have

• Hands on experience with Xero
• Experience with a UK business or international finance team
• Exposure to media, digital or creative industries
• Familiarity with reporting tools such as Looker Studio or Power BI, or AI tools for finance work
