Financial Accountant

About the role

Own the day-to-day accounting function end to end alongside the finance manager, covering payables, receivables, banking and tax liaison.

What you will do

• Handle accounts payable: intake, review, posting of invoices and payment runs
• Manage accounts receivable, customer invoicing, incoming payments and overdue follow-up
• Post bank transactions and reconcile accounts
• Prepare payroll journal entries together with the people team
• Liaise with the external tax advisor, including input for monthly VAT filings
• Document and improve accounting processes, with scope to grow into areas such as fixed assets

What they look for

• Solid experience in German HGB financial accounting covering AP, AR, banks and payroll journals
• Confident use of DATEV, with German at C1 or native level as the working language
• English solid enough for mainly written internal communication
• Good Excel skills
• A self-starter who is not afraid to ask questions

Nice to have

• Experience with Business Central, Payhawk or comparable tools
• A Steuerfachangestellte or Bilanzbuchhalter (IHK) qualification
• Experience supporting audits
