Freelance Mechanical CFD Engineer, AI Trainer

About the role

Support the training and assessment of AI agents working on advanced fluid simulation problems. You prepare simulation cases, verify reference results and write code checks for the agents' output.

What you will do

• Build and run fluid simulations from supplied CAD geometry
• Create reference solutions that have been checked for correctness
• Write Python scripts that test the agents' simulation results
• Assess how well AI agents perform on expert simulation tasks

What they look for

• A degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or in energy, oil and gas or a similar field
• Several years of practical CFD work in industry or research, meshing included
• Hands-on use of OpenFOAM, ANSYS Fluent or CFX, or STAR-CCM+
• Experience with verification and validation, such as mesh independence studies and comparison with experiments or benchmarks
• Working knowledge of Python and GitHub
• English at B2 level or higher

Nice to have

• Background in aerospace, automotive, offshore or turbomachinery work
• Experience with multiphase flows or flows carrying particles
