A remote contract role focused on backend maintenance and development, keeping a client platform dependable while improving web and AI workflows.

Maintain services and web apps built with Java, Maven and Node.js for product demonstrations
Handle backlog work such as technical debt, dependency upgrades, bug fixes and epic support tasks
Support dependable builds and delivery using Buildkite and continuous integration practices
Work directly with the client engineering team, reporting progress and blockers while managing tasks independently
Help with infrastructure changes, web applications and AI workflow enhancements as priorities shift

At least six years of professional software development experience
Two or more years building software with Java and Maven plus Node.js
Full stack background with production grade frontend and backend work
Ability to assess AI technologies critically and use generative AI to improve delivery without lowering quality
Hands on experience with CI/CD pipelines and Buildkite
Strong English communication, collaboration skills and autonomy
