HCC Risk Adjustment Coder

About the role

Reviewing medical records and assigning diagnosis codes so that patient conditions are captured accurately for risk adjustment and reimbursement.

What you will do

• Review, analyze and code diagnostic information from patient records following client project rules
• Keep coding aligned with ICD-10 CM and DRG guidance, payer policies, regulations and accreditation standards
• Sustain a coding accuracy rate of at least 95 percent
• Handle several client projects at once and complete other tasks as directed

What they look for

• At least two years of HCC coding experience
• Broad knowledge of ICD-10
• Solid grounding in medical terminology, abbreviations, pharmacology and disease processes
• Ability to work independently in a fast paced production setting and meet deadlines
• Good written and spoken communication, time management and remote working skills
• AHIMA or AAPC certification, with CPC-A accepted only alongside a CRC
