Lead substation engineering projects for utility clients, ranging from 4kV to 345kV, with client contact and coordination across disciplines.
What you will do
- Prepare substation general arrangements, control house layouts, plans and sections
- Design grounding, lightning protection and conduit or trench layouts
- Build material lists and construction specifications
- Run studies and reports such as grounding, voltage drop and AC/DC load calculations
- Coordinate civil and structural design work and protection and control engineering
- Mentor the design team, perform quality reviews and support projects through closeout and construction
What they look for
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- PE licensure required, or FE on the path to PE accepted
- Minimum ten years in the electric utility industry
- Utility substation engineering experience in electrical or physical design
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Nice to have
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation
