What you will do
- Install and upgrade mainframe database software, then administer and tune customer DB2 environments
- Handle daily database upkeep such as backups, restores, extent growth checks and scheduled reorganizations
- Create and maintain disaster recovery procedures and respond to customer requests
- Complete customer service orders for z/OS mainframe clients relating to DB2 in a timely way
- Give primary support for reported problems involving DB2 table spaces
- Analyze database configuration efficiency and review performance periodically
