About the role

Join a small core team pushing the frontier of LLM agents that reason, plan and act reliably. You will own research projects from first ideas through experiments to working product prototypes.

What you will do

• Direct research programs on LLM reasoning, post-training and how agentic systems are designed
• Create techniques that raise the capability, dependability and safety of autonomous agents in real settings
• Work with software and platform engineers to turn research results into production features
• Design experiments, benchmark models and study behaviour to spot failure modes and openings
• Track advances in reasoning, multi-agent systems, RLHF, tool use and fine-tuning, and publish or open source where fitting

What they look for

• At least two years of LLM research in agents, post-training or evaluations, with publications
• Practical experience with post-training such as instruction tuning, RL and reasoning, plus RLHF and open-weight models
• Python alongside PyTorch, JAX or TensorFlow
• Willingness to work on-site five days a week in Palo Alto, with relocation supported

Pay

USD 280,000 to 350,000 per year
