Officer, Government Relations and Advocacy

About the role

Support the planning and delivery of government relations strategies, advocacy campaigns and stakeholder engagement. The role helps advance long term solutions that reduce poverty and food insecurity.

What you will do

• Help plan and carry out government relations and advocacy strategies
• Build and maintain ties with elected officials, political staff, public servants and external partners
• Monitor government activity at federal, provincial, territorial, municipal and Indigenous levels
• Track legislation, parliamentary activity, consultations, budgets and policy announcements
• Coordinate meetings and engagement opportunities with government representatives

What they look for

• An undergraduate degree or equivalent, ideally in political science, public administration, communications or a similar field
• Experience working with government stakeholders or elected officials
• Experience in federal Canadian politics with a solid grasp of the Canadian system
