Underwriter Associate, Commercial Lines (P&C)

About the role

Serve policyholders and agents by phone for small and mid-size commercial accounts on behalf of a carrier client. Handle policy documents, billing questions, renewals and cancellations with concierge-level service.

What you will do

• Answer incoming calls and tasks about policy documents, billing inquiries and renewal reviews
• Locate new and renewal policies, check accuracy and prepare them for delivery to policyholders
• Coordinate with insureds, agents and underwriters to bind renewals and share task and billing updates
• Set up accounts and process first notice of service and renewal tasks
• Handle cancellation requests and pre-cancellation outreach, following items through to resolution

What they look for

• Property and casualty insurance experience
• Three to five years servicing or selling commercial P&C policies
• Associate or bachelor's degree, or two to four years of agency experience in personal and commercial lines, or an equivalent mix
• Ability to read and interpret business publications, technical procedures and regulations
• Ability to write reports, correspondence and procedure manuals and present information to managers and clients

Nice to have

• Previous call center experience
• Bilingual English and Spanish skills
