Payments Fraud Investigator

About the role

A role focused on protecting a payments ecosystem by probing high-risk accounts and uncovering fraud. The investigator also strengthens detection and prevention practices across the organisation.

What you will do

• Examine risky merchant accounts to spot fraud such as card testing and account takeovers
• Run root-cause reviews to find gaps in systems and policies and propose fixes
• Lead projects across teams that improve tools and processes for handling fraudulent accounts
• Handle urgent fraud incidents and coordinate responses to large distributed attacks
• Brief executives and partner institutions on investigation outcomes and case decisions
• Travel to vendor sites to train analysts and share knowledge

What they look for

• At least five years spent on complex investigations
• Three or more years leading risk projects and working with stakeholders across functions
• Proven skill at using data to support tactical and strategic solutions
• Willingness to question existing processes and push for improvement
• A pragmatic, user-focused and solutions-driven outlook
• Availability to travel to vendor locations up to a tenth of the year
