Principal Software Engineer, Core Experiences

About the role

Set technical direction for the platform and front end behind widely used work surfaces such as sheets, reports and dashboards. Lead architecture for sheet data serving both people and AI agents at scale.

What you will do

• Shape services and APIs serving real-time collaboration and machine-scale agent access
• Identify major technical opportunities and risks early and prove them with prototypes
• Plan and execute petabyte-scale migrations with no customer impact
• Make and document trade-offs between latency, consistency and cost
• Write architecture decisions and standards other teams build on

What they look for

• Hands-on architect experience on large-scale data systems
• Track record delivering multi-quarter technical initiatives with phased plans
• Ability to build alignment across engineering organisations
• Experience with high-stakes production data migrations
• Strong judgment on performance, reliability and correctness
