Security Engineer I

About the role

Remote work with no travel. The job splits roughly into security administration, testing and audits, incident response, compliance and privacy work, with about two years of experience expected.

At a glance

What you will do

• Run the company's security services on laptops, servers, email, networks and cloud platforms.
• Carry out security tests and audits with approved tools, then analyze results and suggest fixes.
• Triage vulnerabilities with the vulnerability management tools and follow the company's vulnerability policy.
• Work with SOC analysts and the SIEM on reporting and alerting to catch threats earlier.
• Investigate policy violations, assess the damage and handle incidents using set criteria and triggers.

What they look for

• Two or more years of relevant work experience, with a high school diploma or GED.
• A clear grasp of network protocols, topologies and security concepts, and how data moves through a network.
• Hands-on skill with a SIEM and triaging incidents.
• Knowledge of incident response steps such as containment, eradication and recovery.
• Good communication with varied audiences, in person and in writing, plus close attention to detail.

Nice to have

• A bachelor's degree.
