The developer leads SQL and database work on core systems supporting a federal health programme, keeping data and applications stable, fast and modern. The role is remote and involves occasional travel.
What you will do
- Lead SQL development, database design and integration across core systems, keeping solutions stable, scalable and secure
- Work with architects, analysts, testers, operational experts, data engineers and vendors to validate backend functionality
- Resolve complex data and system issues, tune database performance and support modernisation and interoperability
What they look for
- Technical training, certification or a degree
- Three or more years in SQL or database development, backend software development or system integration
- Proficiency in SQL, relational design, stored procedures, performance tuning, ETL and modern integration patterns
- Ability to work across technical and operational teams
- Familiarity with HIPAA, secure handling of PHI and PII, and federal compliance rules
