Senior Data Scientist

About the role

The team runs a labour optimisation platform that handles millions of records a day, using predictive analytics and machine learning to place staff where they are needed. Mentoring junior colleagues is part of the job.

At a glance

What you will do

• Find and pull data from several business areas, checking that it is fit for analysis
• Build, test and deploy predictive models in Python and SQL
• Run exploratory analysis and apply statistical methods to answer business questions
• Turn stakeholder requirements into data solutions that match company goals
• Make charts and dashboards that explain findings to technical and non-technical audiences
• Coach junior team members on modelling and good practice

What they look for

• Deep experience in data science and statistical methods for building and validating predictive models
• Strong Python, plus a visualisation tool such as Matplotlib, Plotly or Tableau
• Knowledge of machine learning, data mining and exploratory analysis
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and with judging data quality
• Ability to put models into production and keep them running at scale
• Enough business sense to turn requirements into practical data work
