Senior Financial Crimes Investigator (AML)

About the role

Lead investigations into suspicious financial activity, support regulatory compliance and perform quality control for clients. The role offers independent judgement and may involve supervising junior analysts.

What you will do

• Spot data anomalies and red flags for money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud and sanctions breaches, then escalate cases
• Verify client identities and confirm the purpose of their relationship with the institution under KYC rules
• Carry out quality control tasks and analyse production data
• Communicate with clients and build client specific aids and training materials
• Guide analysts on workflow and administrative items and review written work against feedback
• Meet deadlines and follow procedures while complying with AML laws and client policies

What they look for

• A completed bachelor's degree
• Skill in investigating suspicious activity and drafting detailed Suspicious Activity Reports
• Strong knowledge of banking or finance and its regulations
• Clear written and oral communication, including narrative summaries with recommendations
• A record of meeting daily production goals with good time management and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word and willingness to learn new tools
