Senior IT Technician

About the role

A senior technician role supporting a US based organisation, covering advanced support, infrastructure management and security. The position also involves leading projects and guiding less experienced technicians.

What you will do

• Resolve escalated level three incidents spanning networks, servers, software and security events
• Set up and maintain LAN, WAN, VPN, VLAN, firewall, router, switch and wireless infrastructure
• Administer Windows and Linux servers, directory services, DNS, DHCP and virtualisation platforms
• Run cloud environments across Azure, AWS and hybrid setups, monitoring performance and preventing problems
• Carry out security assessments, threat investigations and controls such as MFA, encryption and intrusion prevention
• Lead deployments, upgrades, migrations and automation work, and mentor junior colleagues

What they look for

• Proven background in senior technical support or systems administration
• Solid grasp of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPN, VLAN, DNS and DHCP
• Hands on firewall and security appliance configuration, for example Cisco, Palo Alto or SonicWall
• Advanced troubleshooting across Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory and cloud
• Experience with VMware or Hyper-V virtualisation
• Scripting skills in PowerShell, Python or Bash
