About the role

Ongoing support of mainframe hardware, covering troubleshooting, problem resolution and maintenance for many clients from a shared team. The role also involves configuration work, disaster recovery and automation.

What you will do

Keep mainframe hardware current with the latest microcode levels
Handle IOGEN and other hardware configuration tasks
Set up storage and processors, including DASD model conversion and MSU updates
Carry out DASD and tape replication with various technologies
Resolve Sev1 and Sev2 incidents, escalating to vendors when needed
Support disaster recovery efforts and client migrations

What they look for

Experience supporting mainframe hardware in an enterprise setting
Knowledge of IOGEN and hardware configuration practices
Familiarity with DASD and tape replication technologies
Ability to troubleshoot major system issues and work with vendors
Willingness to provide 24x7 on-call support
Comfort working in a shared support model serving many customers
