Senior Software Development Engineer

About the role

A senior engineer role in a corporate payments engineering group, building and delivering platform features and integrations for reseller partners. The position is remote but limited to candidates near two named cities.

What you will do

• Create tailored solutions for partners, following roadmaps agreed jointly to expand their portfolios and customer satisfaction
• Work with internal teams and external partners to gather needs and demonstrate completed work with clear technical and business explanations
• Help define and implement an architectural roadmap for the customer-facing platform, aligned with business goals and industry practice
• Design, build, test and ship production software with thorough unit and integration tests
• Take full technical ownership of initiatives from requirement gathering through deployment and monitoring
• Join code reviews, design discussions and architecture decisions, and push for faster delivery through better engineering methods

What they look for

• Five or more years of software engineering experience
• Proven ability to build and deploy internal and external services quickly on cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Experience writing solid automated tests and a strong grasp of the test pyramid
• Good knowledge of data security and compliance in cloud and data settings, ideally in finance
• Strong leadership, team building, decision making and communication skills, and comfort with ambiguity

Nice to have

• Experience building finance applications such as card products, receivables, payables or payment processing
• Experience collaborating with distributed teams
• Working understanding of web services and APIs
