Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

You will deploy, monitor and maintain large web applications and many customer environments running in AWS, working closely with product development teams. The role includes an on-call rotation and reports to the DevSecOps director.

What you will do

• Improve internal automation using infrastructure as code tooling
• Maintain the infrastructure control plane and add new features to it
• Serve as first responder for production incidents during roughly one week per month of on-call duty
• Work with the DevSecOps director and the reliability team to raise security, uptime, performance and cost efficiency of hosted resources
• Advise product teams on deployment and operational concerns
• Help support and integration colleagues with customer environments

What they look for

• Strong hands-on experience with one or more Unix command lines, including shells, terminal editors, git and common system utilities
• Proven work deploying highly available web platforms on AWS
• Experience implementing infrastructure as code
• Background applying security tooling, controls and policies
• Experience configuring and orchestrating CI/CD pipelines
• Experience deploying and orchestrating containers such as Docker and Kubernetes
