Software Engineer, Data Systems (Python)

About the role

A data-focused engineering role building and maintaining pipelines and integrations that feed a data-centric product, working with product and business teams.

What you will do

• Build and maintain pipelines that ingest and transform data from many sources with reliability in mind
• Develop APIs enabling secure, tenant-aware integrations with external systems
• Work within event-driven and batch architectures to keep data fresh and consistent
• Contribute to API design and integration patterns covering real-time and batch intake with various authentication methods
• Add monitoring and alerting that catches freshness issues, failures and performance problems early
• Improve existing data flows and transformations, balancing cost, efficiency and delivery speed in a cloud-native setting

What they look for

• Experience building data pipelines at scale with a bias toward shipping
• Curiosity and appetite for working across a complex network of integrations and transformations
• Familiarity with event-driven and batch processing architectures
• Knowledge of API design and authentication mechanisms such as OAuth and API keys
• Ability to weigh cost, efficiency and speed in a cloud-native environment
