Staff Engineer, AI Builder

About the role

A senior engineering role leading the design and delivery of AI and machine learning systems, from architecture through production. The position combines hands-on building with technical leadership across a cross-functional team.

What you will do

• Define AI architecture and lead model development, tuning and integration work end to end
• Design agentic workflows covering reasoning loops, tool calling and orchestration patterns
• Build retrieval pipelines with chunking, embeddings, vector search, re-ranking and refresh handling
• Create production prompts with structured roles, output limits and few-shot examples
• Embed evaluation and tracing into shipped agents using golden datasets and judge models

What they look for

• Experience owning AI or ML systems end to end, including architectural decisions
• Judgment in choosing which agentic pattern suits a given problem
• Hands-on work with retrieval pipelines and vector search such as OpenSearch
• Familiarity with AWS Bedrock, Agent Core and MCP based tool design
• Skill in designing for failure with retries, circuit breakers and fallback models
• Ability to set engineering standards and guide technical decisions across a team
