Staff Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

A role keeping large distributed platforms reliable, secure and efficient while working with other engineers in an agile setting. The engineer designs systems and prevents production incidents.

What you will do

• Plan and design ways to prevent production incidents
• Architect globally distributed systems and processes for the organization
• Find weaknesses in current applications and infrastructure and fix them
• Define solutions to complex technical problems and share them with teammates
• Translate strategic goals into operational plans and coordinate across teams
• Lead larger sub-projects or small projects when needed

What they look for

• Bachelor, master or doctoral degree or equivalent plus eight years of experience
• Proficiency coding in several or unfamiliar languages such as Python, Ruby or Javascript
• Experience designing complex high scale patterns in AWS
• Experience building repeatable continuous integration and deployment workflows
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to manage time across competing projects and explain complex distributed systems

Nice to have

• AWS professional level certification
• Google Cloud or Azure experience
• Experience at a public company
• Open source contributions or technical blog writing
