Technical Support Consultant

About the role

You will help customers of software and hardware vendors set up and troubleshoot secure remote access, authentication and network connectivity from your home office. The role combines direct client guidance with analysis of logs and traffic to resolve technical problems.

What you will do

• Guide customers through installing and fixing secure private access tools so they can reach internal resources
• Help users set up and debug multifactor authentication for VPN and private access products
• Inspect network traffic to spot bottlenecks and suggest ways to improve performance while keeping security intact
• Advise on how VPN bandwidth should be allocated and prioritized for dependable connections
• Review log files to trace technical problems back to their underlying causes
• Work with customers and engineering colleagues across several operating systems to smooth the user experience

What they look for

• Good grasp of networking fundamentals such as IPsec tunnels, DNS, packet tracing, ports and firewalls
• Basic knowledge of protocols including OpenVPN, IKEv2 and WireGuard
• Able to read and interpret log files when diagnosing issues
• Comfortable supporting Windows, Linux, macOS, Android and iOS
• Analytical mindset with strong research skills and a proactive, responsible attitude

Nice to have

• Hands on experience with cloud services such as AWS or Microsoft Azure
• Knowledge of identity providers and single sign on tools like Google Workspace or Microsoft Entra ID
• Previous experience in a customer facing role
