Architect

About the role

A hands-on architecture role spanning reusable platform products, APIs, data stores, user experience, cloud and AI-assisted engineering. You will shape product vision and turn requirements into practical designs.

What you will do

• Work with product managers, analysts and stakeholders to clarify goals and shape product vision
• Produce blueprints, high and low level designs, decision records and implementation guidance
• Design secure, scalable, reusable services, APIs, data patterns and shared components
• Support engineering teams with prototyping, code review, pair design and design assurance
• Choose technologies, set development standards and build shared frameworks and accelerators
• Plan and estimate work, manage the architecture backlog and balance cost, risk and quality

What they look for

• Strong architecture background across cloud-native apps, integration, data and security
• Hands-on coding in a modern language such as C, Java, JavaScript or TypeScript, or Python
• Experience with AI coding agents and AI-assisted delivery workflows
• Practical Azure skills including compute, storage, networking, policy, identity and key management
• Experience with APIs, microservices, containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD and DevSecOps
• Ability to design authentication and authorisation for users, services and integrations

Nice to have

• Experience with internal developer platforms or platform marketplace models
• Knowledge of generative AI patterns, retrieval-augmented generation and AI guardrails
• Azure architecture or security certifications, TOGAF, SAFe or similar
