Bookkeeper

About the role

Handle day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of client accounts plus some internal company books. The role supports an expanding client base and helps move the team toward more technology-driven workflows.

What you will do

• Own accurate bookkeeping for roughly five to ten client accounts, depending on complexity
• Manage accounts payable, receivable and payroll for clients and internal operations
• Record transactions and keep general ledgers complete and accurate across accounts
• Reconcile bank, account and general ledger balances and investigate discrepancies
• Handle invoicing, deposits, collections, coding, payments and revenue recognition
• Support month-end processes, prepare adjusting entries and report figures to Account Managers

What they look for

• At least two years of hands-on bookkeeping experience
• Solid grasp of accounting principles, including debits, credits and general ledger work
• Practical experience with AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations and ledger maintenance
• Strong QuickBooks skills, with QuickBooks Online preferred
• Ability to juggle several client accounts while staying accurate and organised
• Confident English communication and comfort dealing directly with clients

Nice to have

• Full-cycle bookkeeping including month-end close and adjusting entries
• Experience with both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop
• Familiarity with DEXT, though training can be provided
• Canadian accounting standards experience
