Bookkeeper

About the role

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of client accounts plus some internal company bookkeeping, supporting an expanding client base and the existing accounting team.

What you will do

• Own accurate bookkeeping for roughly 5 to 10 client accounts
• Handle accounts payable, receivable and payroll for clients and internal operations
• Record transactions and maintain complete general ledgers across accounts
• Perform bank and ledger reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Process payroll including tax calculations and related entries
• Support month-end close and prepare adjusting journal entries

What they look for

• At least two years of hands-on bookkeeping experience
• Solid grasp of accounting principles including debits, credits and ledgers
• Practical experience with AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations and ledger upkeep
• Strong QuickBooks skills, with QuickBooks Online preferred
• Ability to juggle multiple client accounts with accuracy and organization
• Confident English communication and comfort with new accounting tools

Nice to have

• Full-cycle bookkeeping including month-end close and adjusting entries
• Experience with both QuickBooks Online and Desktop
• Familiarity with DEXT, training can be provided
• Canadian accounting standards, a degree in accounting or finance, or a bookkeeping certification
