Senior Software Engineer / Technical Lead, Payments

About the role

A senior hands-on engineering and leadership role focused on modernizing and scaling payment processing systems, covering backend code, cloud architecture and compliance.

What you will do

• Build and enhance payment systems covering transaction tracking, reconciliation, fraud detection and chargebacks
• Modernize legacy applications to boost scalability, reliability and security
• Drive backend architecture, system design and event-driven service decisions
• Integrate payment processors and close reconciliation gaps across systems
• Support event infrastructure on AWS and payment services on Azure
• Coach engineering teams, refine development processes and back production releases

What they look for

• Over ten years in software engineering with substantial hands-on backend work
• Strong skills in .NET, Java or Python, with .NET preferred
• Solid grasp of backend architecture, distributed systems and database design
• Experience with SQL Server and tuning relational databases
• Cloud experience on AWS or Azure, including containers or serverless
• Hands-on PCI-DSS compliance work in payment or transaction systems

Nice to have

• Work on high-volume payment systems, fintech or ticketing platforms
• Migrating legacy monoliths to cloud-native services
• Managing distributed engineering teams
