Junior Digital Innovation Engineer

About the role

Support an R&D team that prototypes emerging AI and machine learning capabilities, assesses new technologies and tests better software development approaches, growing steadily in independence.

What you will do

• Scan technology news, papers and vendor releases and summarise relevant findings for the team
• Help build small proofs of concept and feasibility spikes under senior guidance
• Set up and dismantle experimental environments in a controlled, low risk way
• Document experiment setup, method, results and conclusions in shared tools
• Present spike outcomes and next step recommendations to the team
• Follow experimentation, data handling, security and ethical use standards, and act on reviewer feedback

What they look for

• Clear written documentation and structured presentation of technical results
• Willingness to learn quickly through onboarding, pairing and mentoring
• Early escalation of blockers or unclear scope rather than stalling
